WOW!!!!, Part 2

Well, let me just say that I just keep getting floored by these meetings. I'm soooo impressed by how God works through the people who minister in these meetings.

This year The Whisnants were the special music for Thursday nights meeting. They were excellent. Dr. Joe Arthur delivered the Word. He never fails to bring it in a way that makes it seem like it's just for you. And it was all about "Anchors". It was really cool to listen to him describe how the Holy Spirit is the "anchor" end in the soul, Christ is the "anchor" end in heaven, and when there are times you can't pray, the Holy Spirit prays on this end (knowing what a Holy God demands) and how Christ prays on the heavenly end (because He empathises with the earthly man), it all balances out, and God can hear and answer the request. It was really cool.

In the men's meeting (yes, I sat thru this meeting with my video camera), the topic was "courage". The men delivering the Word for this meeting were Tom Gillum and Dean McNease. Yes, they had 2 preachers deliver during their session. It was challenging even for me. Bro. Tom Gillum preached on getting out of your comfort zone and doing something for God. He used a missions theme. He talked about a missionary that was told "If you go over there to those islands, you'll be eaten by the cannibals.". They were referring to the islands between Hawaii and Australia. The missionary's response was "I'd rather be eaten by cannibals and following God's will than to sit here, do nothing, and be eaten by the worms.". WOW!!! Then Dean McNease preached on the "follow through" of courage and the actions that would follow.

The women's meeting focused on "Reminders" and "Prayer". The "Reminders" thought was delivered by Kyla Rowland. She talked about the things that we consider to be brokenness and how God uses those things to be reminders to others about what God can do. The "Prayer" thoughts were delivered by Linda Hicks. It was a refresher course on praying and what's to be the motivation behind the prayer life of a believer.

The Friday night was "Jesus wept". My, my, my. How God can use a man to deliver such a message is beyond my comprehension. The bearer of the Word for this meeting was Dr. Craig Edwards. How God could send His only Son to bear what I couldn't JUST SO that when I face those things, I have someone that will not only sympathize with me but can empathize with me. Feel what I feel - because Christ has felt all those things, too.

Like I said before, the only thing that can describe that meeting is "off the hook". It's a lot to cram in, but it's totally worth it. TOTALLY!!

BTW, if you're interested in a copy of the video, send me an email - I'll send you back all the info you need for ordering. =)
