I'm hanging around...

...although it's been a while since I've posted.

Here's what's been going on:

Back toward the first of the year, our church decided to host a revival for our 50th Anniversary. That sounded like a cool idea. So, we started preparing for this revival. The more we prepared, the bigger this thing became. By the time it was all over, we had scheduled services for 4 nights (Wed - Sat) and for a "homecoming style" Sunday morning service (complete with dinner after morning worship).

We completed those 5 services with little more than a blink - and the services continued! We had church every night (we took Wednesdays and Sundays off because of so many from other churches attending and those same people having obligations at their own churches). This lasted for 2 weeks!

The first night of the revival was set aside for the kiddos to do the special music. These are just 2 of the songs done that night.

After 2 weeks of revival, we went into the short Easter season. The kids from Children's Church sang a song for Easter morning worship and here's what happened...

Cool, isn't it?!

WHERE HAVE I BEEN?????

The answer: all over the place.

I realize that I've not posted in quite a while, but I saw something today that made me stop in my tracks. Something I've seen before, smelled before, touched before, and my "flesh" had forgotten. My mind didn't forget, but I needed a reminding.

Sometimes life is hard. People get sick, lose jobs, say things - bent on hurting each other, never say "I'm sorry". Sometimes it feels like it's never going to end.

I could go on for a while, but I'm not.

Instead, I'm going to tell you how blessed I am. I've got warm shelter in the bitter cold. I've got a job in this mess of an economy. I've got a home while others are losing theirs. I've got more than enough food while some don't have any. I have every necessity more than adequately met. I am blessed!

Let me share why all of this has come up.

Right now, I've got about 10 tabs up on my web browser. I started reading at Los' place. In the comments, I found a link to Jay's place. Which led me to a video.

Thank you Lord for giving me some perspective today.
